'Our first victory', says Panneerselvam on Sasikala's ouster
Declaring that the ouster of TTV Dinakaran and Sasikala Natarajan was their first victory, Panneerselvam said that talks of the merger will now begin. Addressing the media on Wednesday, Panneerselvam said that both factions will now work towards fulfilling the aspirations of party workers.

"This fight was against the domination of Sasikala's family. They (Edappadi camp) have taken the right decision is expelling them. This is the first victory for our faction but the fight will continue. We will now talk about the merger and come together to fulfil the aspiration of the party workers," Panneerselvam said. His statement came moments after Dinakaran conceded defeat and announced his distance from the party.
With this, the AIADMK merger talks are back on track. Meanwhile, members of the Panneerselvam camp expressed doubts over the quick expulsion of Sasikala and Dinakaran. They remained sceptical about whether the expulsion came at Dinakaran's behest to trick Panneerselvam camp into merging with the AIADMK to regain the 'two leaves' symbol.
