Our ancestors, traditions are same: RSS
Lucknow, Mar 20: Amid row over reconversion programmes, a senior functionary of RSS on day said conversion should be by will and there no pressure "for coming back" to Hinduism fold.
"There is no pressure on 'ghar wapsi', but at the same time there must be no compulsion to leave the home," RSS awadh pranth sanghchalak Prabhunath Srivastava told reporters here.
He said it was the basic ideology of the RSS that anything like conversion should be by will. Srivastava said that the Sangh was inviting online membership and was getting at least 10 request each day.
He said the main emphasis was on communal harmony. "Irrespective of the caste and creed, our ancestors are one and our traditions are the same," he said.
Srivastava said during Nagpur meet adoption of June 21 as World Yoga Day by the United Nations was appreciated. He said that RSS would take this to every section of the society and would observe Yoga week across the country.
