OROP:Ex-servicemen will intensify protest if no good news by tomorrow
New Delhi, Aug 27: The ex-servicemen have threatened to escalate their protest if the government fails to make any concrete announcement on the One Rank One Pension issue by tomorrow.
The government had earlier indicated that there could be some announcement that would be made by August 28th on the OROP issue.

The ex-servicemen who are on protest which also includes a hunger strike have said that the protests would escalate if the government does not announce OROP by tomorrow.
The hopes of the ex-servicemen was raised when indications suggested that some good news would come around by tomorrow.
The government is however treading very carefully on the issue and may not agree to all demands put forth on the OROP issue.
The government is worried that if it gives in to all the demands, then the chances are that it may open up a pandoras box. Negotiations regarding the issue are still on between representatives of both sides.
There were negotiations that took place late into the night yesterday.
However the deadlock was not entirely broken.
The war veterans have been insisting that OROP has to be implemented with effect from April 2014, as was announced by the BJP government after it came to power.
