OROP: Ex-servicemen meet home, defence ministers

New Delhi, Aug 25: The government on Tuesday held a meeting with ex-servicemen protesting over One Rank One Pension (OROP), which was attended by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

Representatives from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were also present at the meeting held at Rajnath Singh's residence.

The meeting comes on a day when two of the veterans on indefinite hunger strike, Col. Pushpender Singh (retd) and Havildar Ashok Chauhan (retd) are is hospital, while another, Havildar Major Singh (retd) refused to leave the protest venue despite his deteriorating health.
