OROP: Ex-servicemen hold protest rally in Punjab, demand immediate implementation of scheme
Bathinda, Jul 8: Seeking immediate implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP), ex-servicemen here today held a protest rally, disrupting traffic on the Chandigarh-Bathinda highway.
Ex-servicemen, under the banner of All India Ex-Servicemen League, marched to Army Commander's office here in the cantonment to submit a memorandum on the issue, league spokesman Lt Col (retd) S S Sohi said.

The ex-servicemen marched on both sides of four-laned highway for some three kms before submitting the charter of their demands to the Army Commander.
During the protest the situation remained peaceful and no untoward incident took place, police said.
