Orange Alert in Delhi: Yamuna Breaches Danger Mark; IMD Issues Warning for Today
The water level of the Yamuna River in Delhi breached the danger mark of 205.33 meters on Monday evening, triggering an Orange alert. The water level was recorded at 206.04 mm at 11 pm, according to the Flood Control Department.
The rise in the water level has forced people living on the floodplain and along the banks of the Yamuna in the Mayur Vihar Extension area of Delhi to shift to safer places. Officials said the evacuation of people living on the Yamuna floodplains will begin once the water level reaches 206 meters.

The water level in the Yamuna has been rising continuously as neighbouring Haryana released more water into the river from the Hathnikund barrage. The Yamuna was deemed to be flowing over the danger mark of 205.76 meters at 8 pm on Monday.
