Next Opposition Meeting To Be Held In Bengaluru On July 17-18
The opposition parties who held a meeting in Patna last month, scheduled a second meeting in Bengaluru for July 17-18.
A plan of action is expected to be formulated at the second meeting to be chaired by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge.

"After a hugely successful All-Opposition meeting in Patna, we will be holding the next meeting in Bengaluru on 17 and 18 July, 2023. We are steadfast in our unwavering resolve to defeat the fascist and undemocratic forces and present a bold vision to take the country forward," Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said.
Reportedly, the opposition meet which was supposed to be held on July 13 was postponed mainly in the wake of the upcoming monsoon session of the Bihar legislature (from July 10 to 14) and the Budgetcum-monsoon session of Karnataka assembly (from July 3 to 14).
The monsoon session of the Parliament is set to commence from July 20 and will continue till August 11 this year.
Opposition parties meeting in Patna
Following a four-hour-long meeting hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna, it was announced that a total of 17 parties are going to contest the 2024 general elections together against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The meeting in Patna was a result of months-long efforts to bring the Opposition parties to a common platform to put up a united front against the BJP. The idea of the meeting was floated by Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee when Nitish met her in April.
Over 32 leaders from various parties inluding Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav attended the first meeting hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence in Patna.
While Mayawati (BSP), Naveen Patnaik (BJD), K Chandrashekar Rao (BRS) and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy (YSRCP) were not invited for the Patna meet.
RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary skipped the meeting due to a predetermined family programme.
