OPINION: Ram Mandir Brings New Vigour To Wounded Civilization

It is a moment of sublime glory for Hinduism, as the sacred ritual of Ram Mandir's 'Pran Pratishtha' unfolded successfully on Monday. This has been celebrated all over India including Karnataka. People of the Hindu community showed their devotion by offering special prayers in different parts of the state.

Devotees celebrated the occasion by distributing sweets and bursting crackers. Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha was celebrated with great pomp in all the major cities of the state including Bengaluru.

Special prayers were offered in all the temples under Muzrai Department of Karnataka. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated a Ram temple at Hirandahalli in Bengaluru. In the same temple, a 33-foot tall Hanuman idol was installed.

Ram Mandir Celebration Outside Bengaluru

Devotees of the lord Ram celebrated by distributing lakhs of 'laddus' in the cultural capital of Mysuru. A 111-foot-long incense stick was lit and worshipped at the Anjaneya temple at Fort in the cultural city.

Also, an idol of the lord Ram has been installed at Anjanadri hill in Koppal district, which is believed to be the birthplace of Hanuman. This idol of Rama is nine feet tall and weighs 500 kg. It has been made from a combination of five metals. On the same occasion, the 36-foot idol of Lord Rama was installed at Mantralaya in Raichur district.

Rama's Prana Pratistapana was celebrated with great zeal in all over the state including Hubli-Dharwad, Mandya, Mangaluru, Kalaburagi and Gadag.

The spiritual awakening of Hinduism?

The Lord Rama Prana Prathistapana celebrated across Karnataka is seen as a spiritual awakening of Hinduism. Ram devotees felt that the Hindu civilization, which the Muslim rulers and the British wounded several centuries ago, had come back to the fore. Devotees say that it is because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Hindu civilization has come to the fore again.

New Era of Pride and Joy

The Prime Minister's popularity has reached another milestone with the construction of Ram Mandir. Modi, who assumed office as the PM in 2014, is recognized as a proponent of Hindutva. Hailing from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, he came to prominence as a Hindu nationalist. He was actively involved in the Ram Janmabhoomi struggle.

Modi has been very successful as a political leader who has incorporated nationalist ideas. Modi's popularity has shifted from a political leader to a national leader with the establishment of the Ram Mandir, which has been the center of controversy for several decades.
