Opinion Poll: How Many Lok Sabha Seats Will BJP Win In Uttarakhand?

The BJP is expected to come out with flying colours in Uttarakhand if the elections are held today, as per the India Today Mood of the Nation (MOTN) pre-poll survey.

The saffron party is predicted to get all five seats in the poll, thereby repeating its 2019 performance. The saffron party is predicted to get a 59 per cent vote share which is 2 per cent less than what it earned in the 2019 elections.

The expected voting percentage for the INDIA bloc stands at 32 per cent, marking a one per cent increase, while the other parties are expected to garner 9 per cent of the vote share.

The February 2024 issue of The Nation's Mood is based on a survey conducted across all Lok Sabha seats, with a total of 35,801 participants. The survey took place from December 15, 2023, to January 28, 2024.

On the other hand, the Uttarakhand Assembly on Wednesday passed the Uniform Civil Code Bill. The Bill, which was passed by voice vote, was introduced in the BJP-majority assembly a day earlier and the opposition had suggested that it should be sent to a select committee of the House first.

The bill will now be sent to the President for her assent after which it will become a law. Several BJP-ruled states like Gujarat and Assam are keen to model their UCCs on the legislation passed by the Uttarakhand Assembly.
