Opinion Poll: Can Opp Bloc INDIA Defeat BJP-led NDA In 2024 Lok Sabha Polls?

Will the newly-formed Opposition bloc INDIA defeat the BJP-led NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls? No, says India Today-CVoter Mood of the Nation poll.

According to the survey, 54 per cent of the people who took part in the poll said that the NDA cannot be defeated. However, 33 per cent of the respondents felt that the Opposition Bloc could beat the NDA. The remaining 13 per cent of respondents are undecided.

In the previous meeting held in Bengaluru, the Opposition parties choose the name of the bloc as INDIA.

39 per cent of respondents felt that the change in the name would help the Opposition bloc to get more votes while 31 per cent felt that it would not make a difference.

An additional 18 per cent of individuals indicated that the new name "INDIA" would not attract votes and lacked an appealing quality. The remaining respondents remained uncertain about the potential electoral impact of the name change.

On asked who should lead the Opposition bloc, 24 per cent of people picked Rahul Gandhi's name. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal garnered 15 per cent votes, each.

The survey highlights a shift in public sentiment towards Rahul Gandhi since January. Back then, only 13 per cent of participants believed he was the most suitable candidate to lead the Opposition. In contrast, support for Arvind Kejriwal dropped from 27 per cent in January.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity has slightly dropped when compared to a survey done a few months ago, but 52 per cent of the respondents still want him to get the third term, according to the Mood of the Nation survey.
