AAP's Sanjay Singh Invites Media to Tour Sheesh Mahal, Challenges BJP on PM Modi's Rajmahal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has invited the media to tour Arvind Kejriwal's former official residence. This invitation comes amid allegations from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that the residence was transformed into a "Sheesh Mahal" during Kejriwal's tenure as Delhi's chief minister. Singh has challenged BJP leaders to join the media visit at 11 am on Wednesday to substantiate their claims.

Sanjay Singh Challenges BJP on Sheesh Mahal

During a press conference, Singh accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of residing in a palace valued at Rs 2,700 crores. He urged the BJP to allow a similar media visit to Modi's residence. Singh alleged that the BJP, from the prime minister down to party members, is orchestrating a propaganda campaign regarding the "Sheesh Mahal" controversy.

Allegations and Challenges

The bungalow at 6 Flagstaff Road, occupied by Kejriwal, has been at the center of controversy due to alleged irregularities in its renovation. The BJP has made these allegations a focal point of its election campaign, branding the bungalow as "Sheesh Mahal." Kejriwal vacated the residence in October last year after resigning as Delhi's chief minister.

Prime Minister Modi, during a BJP rally in Rohini last week, criticized AAP. He claimed that their accusations against the Centre for hindering Delhi's governance were debunked by the "Sheesh Mahal" issue. The BJP alleges extravagant features like a minibar, golden toilet, and swimming pool inside the residence.

Media Tour Invitation

Sanjay Singh refuted these claims, stating, "BJP leaders are spreading lies, and I want the entire nation and Delhi to know the truth." He challenged them to show where these luxurious amenities are located. "The people of Delhi and the country deserve to know the truth. I challenge you. Tomorrow at 11 am, let's visit the Chief Minister's residence along with the media and uncover the reality," he said.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva has alleged that valuable items, including a golden commode, disappeared after Kejriwal vacated the bungalow. The ongoing dispute highlights political tensions between AAP and BJP over governance and transparency issues.

The media tour aims to address these allegations directly by allowing journalists to inspect the premises themselves. This move is part of AAP's strategy to counter BJP's narrative ahead of upcoming elections.
