Op Keran or op Ghost! Army denies any militant infiltration

LoC
New Delhi, Oct 2: Infiltrations at the LoC continue even after the Nawaz Sharif Government and the Indian government took a pledge to fight terrorism yet again. In a recent development late yesterday night, Pakistani armymen-a batallion of 30-40-have been seen within the cordoned area of the LoC in India.

They are reported to have taken over the Shala Bhata village in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. There were small-scale firings between the Indian and the Pakistani army that are still said to be continuing.

Army denies any infiltration, leads to confusion

Recalling the infiltration at the LoC on the 24th and the 26th of September, the Army Chief denied the latest reports of infiltration in the Shala Bhata village of Kupwara district.

Confirming that Operation Keran is still on, today being the 9th day, the chief said that militants have been pushed back from the cordoned off area earlier today at 4:30 am. "I have visited the area myself and have inspected the region thoroughly. There are no signs of infiltration and no posts or villages have been taken over," he said.
