Only issue-based support for Modi: Ramdev
Ramdev added that the support for Gujarat cief minister Narendra Modi is 100% issue based, and that it's important to look at Modi's policies ahead of elections.
Ramdev said that he will support Modi only on certain issues. The yoga guru said he will hold discussions with the BJP leadership on the matter on January 5. Ramdev hit out at Congress saying the grand old party was disastrous for the nation. On Friday, the Prime Minister had told the same about Modi at his press meet.
Ramdev also gave a slice of his 'economic wisdom' to the political parties. He demanded the abolition of all the taxes across the country. Blaming the wrong economic policies employed by the Congress as the reason behind rising inflation, Ramdev said there was a need to impose only bank transaction tax to tackle financial corruption. One percent bank tax will give the government Rs 15 lakh crore, added Ramdev.
He demaded a rollback of 500-1000 rupee notes and opined that economic policy reforms would help in curbing inflation.
Three days ago, Ramdev had described Modi as 'mahanayak' (great leader) and said he was a source of inspiration for everyone. He had also said that he was going to launch a nationwide campaign to urge people to vote for Modi in the next general elections.
