Only Congress can save the Congress: Digvijaya Singh
Singh was accused of holidaying in Goa and not being able to form the government in the state.
Only the Congress can save the Congress is what the party's senior leader, Digvijaya Singh has to say. Referring to factionalism in the party, the general secretary of the party said that unless the party men change, no one can save the Congress.

"Those who have scant respect for the party must go and work in the midst of the people. Everyone must be respected in the party," Singh said while responding to a question from media persons on his failure to oversee the government formation in Goa. He said that he was wrongly accused of holidaying in Goa. The statements come in the wake of several Congressmen blaming Singh for not being able to seize the initiative and form the government in Goa despite being the single largest party.
"Had I gone for tourism in Goa, then my party couldn't have improved its tally to 17 seats from 6 and emerged as the single largest party," Singh said.
