New Delhi, January 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the commencement of oil production from the state-owned ONGC's flagship deep-sea project in the Krishna Godavari basin. In a post on social media, Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri expressed his enthusiasm, stating that as India surges ahead as the fastest-growing economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the country's energy production is poised to rise from the deepest frontiers of the Krishna Godavari basin. The commencement of oil production from the complex and challenging deepwater KG-DWN-98/2 Block, situated off the coast of the Bay of Bengal, holds immense promise.
The block is expected to yield a substantial 45,000 barrels of oil per day and over 10 million cubic meters of gas per day, contributing significantly to India's energy security and economic growth.
