One Jawan Killed, Four Terrorists Neutralised As Encounters Break Out In J&K
The Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed twin encounters on Saturday, leading to the death of one soldier and the killing of four terrorists, officials reported.
The first encounter took place in Modergam village following a search operation based on intelligence inputs. Security forces cornered at least two to three terrorists in their hideout.

The Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the incident on X, stating, "Encounter started at Modergam Village of #Kulgam District. Police and Security Forces are on job. Further details shall follow."
A few hours later, another gunfight erupted in Frisal Chinnigam village. Acting on a tip-off about the presence of Lashkar group terrorists, security forces engaged in a gunfight when the terrorists, hiding in a house, opened fire.
The exchange of gunfire at both locations remains intense, reported India Today.
This follows an incident last month in Pulwama district where two top commanders from The Resistance Front, an offshoot of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, were trapped in a hideout during a gunfight with security forces.
