On Mallya, this is what PM Modi had to say
Mallya was on Tuesday arrested by the Scotland Yard police and later released by a Westminster court on bail.
Those who have looted the poor and the middle class will have to return what they have looted. This was a veiled dig taken by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi a few hours after liquor baron, Vijay Mallya was arrested and released on bail in the United Kingdom.
The PM tweeted, "those who looted the poor and the middle classes will have to return what they have looted. The PM was responding to a tweet by a follower who said, corruption not only robs us of hard earned money, but also of our dignity."
Mallya was on Tuesday arrested by the Scotland Yard police and later released by a Westminster court on bail. The arrest was made on the request by India. A court in the UK would begin hearing on May 17 on whether Mallya can be extradited to India or not.
India had initially sought that he be deported. However the UK rejected the request on the ground that he had entered the country on a valid passport. India was then told to take up the case using the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty.
