On day 1, Yeddy stays busy with new appointments/transfers

B S Yeddyurappa had a busy day-1 after being sworn in as Chief Minister of Karnataka on Thursday. He effected several transfers and appointments apart from deciding to waive of farm loans after going through the report of the Chief Secretary.

A key appointment made by him was that of the Advocate General of Karnataka. He appointed Prabhuling Navadgi. He succeeds Madhusudhan Naik who had resigned after the Congress lost the elections.

Navadi, a designated senior counsel had worked as the additional solicitor general and had represented the Union Government in the Karnataka High Court on 2015.

Yeddyurappa also changed the principal secretary to the CM apart from making some changes in the police department.

Yeddyurappa also appointed M Lakshminarayana as the additional chief secretary to the CM. He had served as a secretary to the CM when Yeddyurappa was the CM in 2008. He replaces L K Atheeq.
