As per a report in The Times Of India, the MLA visited Bhatia after Ghaggar canal gushed into the village on Wednesday. He was engaged in a heated argument with women before an elderly woman lost her cool and slapped him.

The JPP leader immediately left the spot after the incident.

However, the villagers have complained that he visited the village for the first time after winning the election. He is also accused of not providing any relief. However, he is believed to have told them to have patience, the report added.

Villagers have claimed that more than 40 villages located near the Ghaggar canal in Cheeka town are bracing for potential floods.

Ishwar Singh, a prominent figure in the JJP, previously served as a Rajya Sabha member from 2008 to 2014 during the UPA regime at both the state and central levels. Prior to the 2019 elections, he joined the JJP.

On the other hand, he has said that he has forgiven her and he is not going to take legal action against her.

Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday conducted an aerial survey of areas affected by three days of incessant downpour and announced Rs 4 lakh ex gratia to the kin of those who died in rain-related incidents.

Financial assistance will also be provided to the poor and others whose houses have been affected by the rain, he said.
