On camera: Bengaluru woman jumps off moving Rapido bike to escape molestation bid
A 30-year-old Bengaluru woman jumped off a moving Rapido bike to save herself from a driver who sexually harassed her and attempted to take her to the wrong destination.
The entire incident was caught on camera, in which a woman can be seen jumping off a moving motorbike after the rapido driver allegedly tried to grope her and snatched her phone.

The driver, identified as Deepak Rao, has now been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
According to reports, the incident occurred on April 21st at 11:10 p.m., when the woman booked a Rapido bike from Yelahanka to Indiranagar. However, instead of going to her destination, the rider took her phone on the pretext of checking the OTP (one-time password) for starting the ride, but instead changed the drop location to Doddaballapura, the news report further said.
The woman suspected the driver was taking her to the wrong location and asked her about it, but he remained silent and continued at a high speed of 60 kmph.
The woman also snatched her phone upon realising the driver was drunk, but when he sped up the bike even more, she had to jump off near the BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT). Th security guard at the college gate then rushed to help her. Upon seeing this, the accused escaped from the spot.
The woman suffered minor injuries as she was wearing a helmet.
She later called her friend in Indiranagar and registered a complaint at the Yelahanka Newtown police station.
Some reports also claimed that the woman had booked a Honda Activa in Rapido app but the driver who came to pick the woman up was on a Bajaj Pulsar.
The police then examined the CCTV footage and arrested the accused.
