Villagers believed that the fish fell from the sky when it was raining heavily in the wee hours of Friday.
Soon, villagers spread the news and people from nearby areas rushed to collect the fish. It has been reported that the fish were in sizes between 4 and 6 inches.
Meanwhile, Marine Biology Duggaraju Srinivas, an Environmentalist and retired professor, overruled such reports saying that fish rain can not occur.
Mr Dugguraju has been quoted as saying, "Fish does not fall from the sky. It is only displacement caused due to rain mixed with gales or tornados."
"Due to intense wind, the water from nearby rivers, canals, and fish tanks get displaced. Along with the water, fish and other marine life too are displaced," he added.
