Omar Abdullahs Bombshell: J&K Admins Coercion Exposed Ahead of PM Modis Srinagar Rally

Srinagar, Mar 6: National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has accused the Jammu and Kashmir administration of resorting to extreme measures to ensure a substantial crowd for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Srinagar. Abdullah claims that thousands of government employees have been compelled to gather at designated locations before dawn to be transported to the rally venue.

Compulsory Participation and Threats of Disciplinary Action

According to Abdullah, the participation of government employees is not optional but mandatory. Those who fail to comply face the threat of disciplinary action from their department heads. He highlights the challenging circumstances, with employees, including women, being asked to assemble in freezing temperatures as early as 4:30 am to 5:30 am.

Criticism of Media Coverage

Abdullah anticipates that the media will portray the rally as a massive gathering of enthusiastic supporters, but he asserts that the majority of attendees will not be there voluntarily. He criticizes the Jammu and Kashmir government for its dictatorial approach to ensure a large crowd, suggesting that the BJP lacks the ability to mobilize support in the region without administrative intervention.

Involvement of Private Schools

Abdullah further alleges that several private schools have been directed to provide their buses for transporting employees to the rally. He mentions specific schools, such as DPS, whose buses have been commandeered for this purpose. Abdullah possesses extensive documentation, including lists with department details, addresses, mobile numbers, and transport information, supporting his claims.

Concerns Over Media Bias

Abdullah expresses skepticism about the media's willingness to report on these irregularities, accusing them of focusing on superficial narratives such as "three families" and "new era of development." He suggests that the media often overlooks crucial issues and instead promotes a favorable portrayal of the government.

Omar Abdullah's allegations raise serious concerns about the Jammu and Kashmir administration's methods of mobilizing support for Prime Minister Modi's rally. The reported compulsory participation of government employees and the involvement of private schools highlight potential abuses of power and a lack of genuine public enthusiasm for the event.
