OI EXCLUSIVE: Not Varanasi, Is PM Modi Eyeing This Seat In Telangana For Lok Sabha Polls 2024?
Hyderabad:The political landscape of Telangana is shifting with assembly election results fueling new strategies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. All major parties - Congress, BRS, and BJP - are maneuvering for dominance. Buoyed by recent wins, Congress sets sights on Lok Sabha victory in Telangana. BRS strategizes comeback, while BJP makes impactful moves in the state.
Following the conclusion of the assembly battle in Telangana, all political parties are now turning their attention towards the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. In this context, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has devised a new strategic plan, according to insider information. Having secured four Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 general elections, the saffron party recently triumphed in eight seats during the Assembly elections. The BJP high command has strategically honed in on Telangana as a key focus, aiming to extend its influence across South India with Telangana as its stronghold, thereby implementing a series of fresh and innovative strategies.

Sources reveal that the BJP high command is contemplating fielding Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana. The party anticipates that Modi's candidacy in Telangana will fortify their position, subsequently strengthening the party's foundation in Southern India. While previous speculations hinted at PM Modi contesting from Tamil Nadu, no official confirmation has been provided. Presently, the BJP holds no power in the southern states. If the strategy involving PM Modi proves successful, the political dynamics within the BJP could shift in their favor in the southern region.

Malkajgiri, being a mini-India with residents from all states, boasts the largest constituency in terms of voters. In 2019, the current Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, secured victory in the Lok Sabha seat, which is now vacant following his resignation.
With the BJP's tactical decision to field PM Modi in the Malkajgiri constituency, significant changes in the political landscape are imminent. Leaders from other political factions, particularly the BRS, are reportedly considering joining the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP's focus spans across all 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana, except for Khammam, Nalgonda, Bhongir, and Mahaboobabad. This strategic approach positions the BJP as a formidable alternative to the BRS. By deploying Modi as a candidate from Malkajgiri, the BJP aims to create challenges for both the Congress and the BRS. An official statement from the BJP high command is expected to be released soon, shedding light on these political developments.
