Odisha: Youth held for posting obscene photos of girl

Jajpur (Odisha), July 8: A youth was arrested for allegedly posting objectionable photos of a girl on social media when she refused to enter into a relationship with him in Rahala in this district, police said today.

A Class XII student posted obscene photos of a 17 year-old girl whom he had taken to a nearby tourist spot and clicked some indecent photos of her about six months ago, police officials said.

Later he started blackmailing the girl and pressurised her to have an affair with him. When she rejected the proposal, the accused circulated the pictures on social media.

The girl's father, after being alerted by an acquaintance about the obscene photos, approached police on Monday.

Based on an FIR, the youth was arrested yesterday and produced before a court. He was remanded to judicial custody, they said.
