Odisha Dominates IndiaSkills 2024, Winning Maximum Medals for Second Year
Odisha's participants have once again demonstrated their exceptional talent and dedication by securing the top spot in the IndiaSkills 2024 national championship, marking a significant achievement for the state for the second year in a row. The competition, known as the country's largest skill contest, witnessed Odisha leading the medal tally with an impressive collection of 51 medals. This remarkable feat was celebrated as the team received a warm welcome at Biju Patnaik International Airport.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to X to express his pride and admiration for the team's hard work and success. "The dedication, hard work, and triumphs of the participants have made the entire state proud. May they keep shining and inspiring all with remarkable achievements. Wish them all the best for the future," he stated, congratulating the state's winners.
Odisha's competitors excelled across various skills, securing 17 gold, 13 silver, and nine bronze medals, in addition to 12 Medallion of Excellence. The state's participants stood out among over 900 contestants from across India, competing in 48 different skills including mobile robotics, information network cabling, industrial control, mobile application development, and cyber security.
The Skilled In Odisha initiative, underlined by OSDA chairperson Alka Misra, focuses on expanding and globalizing the skills of Odisha's youth. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Skill Development & Technical Education department, along with Rashmita Panda, CEO of Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), were present to greet the champions upon their arrival.
With their eyes now set on the WorldSkills competition scheduled to take place in Lyon, France, in September, Team Odisha is determined to bring further laurels to the state. Their outstanding performance at IndiaSkills 2024 serves as a solid foundation for their preparation for this international event.
