Odisha Governor Raghubar Das Awards State Film Honours for 2020 to 2022 at Special Ceremony

At a special event, Odisha Governor Raghubar Das presented the State Film Awards for 2020, 2021, and 2022. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Odia Language, Literature and Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, and other notable figures. The awards recognised excellence in various categories within the film industry.

Odisha Governor Awards State Film Honours

The Mohan Sundar Deb Goswam award for 2020 was given to Ananta Mohapatra, a distinguished writer, director, and theatre artist. Cinematographer Srinivas Mohapatra and comedian Jayiram Samal received the lifetime achievement award for 2021 and 2022 respectively. This honour includes a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and a citation.

Best Film and Director Awards

The best film award for 2020 went to 'Saheed Raghu Sardar'. In 2021, 'Pratiksha' and 'Dalchini' shared the accolade. For 2022, the film 'Daman' was honoured. In the best director category, Rakesh Samal was recognised for 'Rakesh Raja' in 2020. Suresh Patnaik won for 'Trushna' in 2021, while Sudhansu Mohan Sahu was awarded for 'Mayabi' in 2022.

Debashis Patra received the Best Actor Male award for 2021. Ankit Kumar and Dipanwit Das Mohapatra were also honoured in the same category for their performances in 2021. Babushan Mohanty took home the award for 2022.

Recognition of Female Actors

Kavya Keeran Shukla, Suryamayee Mohapatra, and Lopamudra Mishra were each awarded Best Actor Female for their performances over the three years. Their contributions to cinema were celebrated at this prestigious event.

The best tribal film award was given to 'Dewa', a film in the Koya language, for its outstanding contribution in 2022. However, no films were recognised in this category for the years 2020 and 2021.

Jury Selection Process

A panel of five jury members selected the recipients of these awards. The jury was chaired by renowned Odia film director Sabyasachi Mohapatra. Their decisions highlighted exceptional talent within the industry.

The Governor praised all winners and encouraged filmmakers to create works that showcase Odisha's natural beauty with courage and innovation. This call to action aims to inspire future projects that reflect the region's unique charm.
