Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Accused of Outsourcing Government to an Outsider
In a striking statement, Senior BJP leader Aparajita Sarangi, on March 28, raised allegations against Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, claiming that the governance of the state has been outsourced to an individual not native to Odisha. Sarangi, who serves as the Bhubaneswar Member of Parliament (MP) and has a background as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in various capacities within the state, expressed her concerns during an interview with Video.

Without naming anyone specifically, Sarangi highlighted her apprehensions as a resident of Odisha rather than in her capacity as a political figure. She pointed out that the electorate voted for Patnaik, yet the state sees a prevalence of non-Odia contractors, leading to job scarcity for the local populace. She underscored the widespread dissatisfaction and alleged corruption permeating all levels of governance.
"It is high time we say goodbye to this government," Sarangi remarked, questioning Patnaik's ability to effectively manage the state's administrative and governance mechanisms. She advocated for a change in leadership, positioning the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a viable alternative to the current government.
Emphasizing the desire among Odisha's citizens for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Sarangi envisioned a "double-engine government" for the state, mirroring Modi's active and effective governance model. She confidently predicted that the BJP would secure 15 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha, attributing this optimism to a favorable atmosphere towards Modi's leadership.
The BJP national spokesperson articulated her vision for Odisha under BJP's rule - a corruption-free government, efficient administrative machinery, transparent governance, and comprehensive development. Sarangi's bold assertions reflect a call for significant political and administrative changes in Odisha, advocating for a shift towards Modi's leadership style and governance principles.
