Odisha BJP Organises Programme to Welcome NRIs at First Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Event
Odisha is set to host the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the first time, and the ruling BJP has crafted a plan to warmly welcome all attendees, including NRIs. State BJP president Manmohan Samal has called on party MPs, MLAs, and leaders to ensure a memorable reception for the guests.

BJP leaders, including MPs and MLAs, will be present at Biju Patnaik International Airport during the arrival and departure of guests attending the three-day event starting January 8. Samal stated that BJP workers and leaders will conduct Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Bhubaneswar on January 7 and 8 before the event begins.
Preparations for a Grand Welcome
On January 7-8, BJP leaders and workers will organise processions across all 30 districts to greet NRIs and other guests. A grand welcome is also planned for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is expected to arrive at the city airport on January 8 evening.
The BJP has urged citizens to actively participate in ensuring the event's success. "We wish that 4.5 crore people of the state will welcome guests and participants coming from around 160 countries. This event will be a turning point for Odisha," Samal said.
Showcasing Odisha's Attractions
BJP workers will assist guests visiting tourist destinations in Odisha. "There are many tourist attractions in our state, and we will showcase them to our guests. We will celebrate the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas as a state festival for three days," Samal said.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the event on January 9, while President Droupadi Murmu will attend the valedictory session on January 10. The BJP aims to make this event a significant milestone for Odisha by involving citizens in welcoming international participants.
