Odisha Eyes Future as Host for International Hockey Tournaments
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Tuesday that the state aims to host the upcoming Pro League and additional world-class hockey events. This statement was made during a meeting with International Hockey Federation (FIH) president Tayyab Ikram, who discussed Odisha's contributions to global hockey and collaborative efforts to enhance the sport's development in the state.

Odisha's Commitment to Hockey
Majhi highlighted Odisha’s appreciation for FIH’s consistent support, especially during major events like the Men’s Hockey World Cup. He remarked, "Odisha has emerged as a global hub for hockey, hosting prestigious tournaments. We are excited to host the upcoming Pro League, and with your support, we hope to bring more world-class events to the state in the future."
The meeting also included Hockey India president Dillip Tirkey and Odisha principal secretary of sports and youth services department Bhaskar Sharma. They discussed key initiatives for further developing the sport, enhancing infrastructure, and hosting international tournaments in Odisha.
