'Objectionable picture' in newspaper triggers tension, 3 held

Jhansi, July 22: Tension prevailed in the city after an "objectionable picture" was published in a newspaper here leading to the arrest of three persons.

Members of a particular community opposed an objectionable picture printed in an eveninger brought out from here on July 20, SSP Kiran S said.

Yesterday evening, they raised slogans at the Kotwali city police station against the publishers and editors of the daily demanding stern action against them, the SSP said.

On the complaint of one Mohd Hashim and others against four persons including the owner, printer and two editors, three persons have been arrested, the SSP said. The situation was now under control, the SSP added.
