Nurse Allegedly Raped by Director of Private Hospital in Kanpur After Intoxicating Drink

A 22-year-old nurse in Kanpur has accused the director of a private hospital of rape, according to police reports on Monday. The incident allegedly involved the nurse being given a soft drink mixed with intoxicants before the assault. The police have registered an FIR and arrested the suspect.

The nurse had been employed at the Kalyanpur hospital for several months. On Sunday evening, she attended a party hosted by the hospital director. The director allegedly asked her to remain at the hospital overnight for work-related reasons. Around midnight, he reportedly summoned her to his room, forcibly pulled her inside, and locked the door.

Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings

An official, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that the director held the nurse captive and raped her. The accused also allegedly threatened to kill her if she reported the crime. The police have not revealed the suspect's identity yet. Following his arrest, he was presented in court.

The police plan to conduct a medical examination of the victim. They will also arrange for her to give a statement before a magistrate in court. These steps are part of the ongoing investigation into the case.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhishek Pandey confirmed that the nurse had been working at the hospital for a few months. He detailed that she was asked to stay overnight under the guise of official duties. The investigation continues as authorities gather more evidence related to this serious allegation.
