NTPC explosion: Death toll rises to 30, police set up green corridor to carry injured

The death toll in the explosion at NTPC plant in Raebareli has risen to 30. A boiler in the NTPC's Unchahar plant exploded on Wednesday evening.
UP police have a set-up green corridor till airport to bring three persons injured inNTPC accident to Delhi's AIIMS via special aircraft.
Uttar Pradesh Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar, told ANI about the rise in the death toll.
Also, 66 people were injured in the incident.
"We've constituted a team of Magistrate and a Technical Officer, which will conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident," DM said.
Rescue operations by NDRF are still underway at the explosion site.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to the accident. Also, the PM sanctioned Rs. 50,000 each for those injured.

On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for next of kin of deceased, Rs 50,000 for critically injured and Rs 25,000 for injured.
NTPC operates a 1550 Mega Watt power plant of Uttar Pradesh, which is named after Feroze Gandhi, husband of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
