NPCI Latest Changes For December 2023: Update UPI IDs, Bank Lockers Now

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has made several changes in rules about banking, finance, tech, and other sectors. If ignored then these changes may impact people's day-to-day lives and financial plans largely. According to the notification shared by NPCI, a new set of rules has been shared related to bank locker agreements, UPI IDs, Aadhaar Card updation, Jeevan Pramaan Patra or life certificates.

To make all the changes, the corporation has given a month and people should do the important updates required before the deadline in December. Know more about all the important changes done by NPCI in the details below:

Bank Locker Agreements Change Rule

As per the NPCI modified rules, the deadline to renew the contract for the bank locker is December 31. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had announced the deadline for customers to sign a new contract with banks at the start of the year after modifying the rules. The bank regulatory authority had observed that a large number of customers had not signed the revised agreement.

Changes With The UPI ID Rule

The banks will deactivate unified payments interface (UPI) IDs and associated UPI numbers which are not been in use for the last year following National Payments Corporation of India's latest orders by December 31.

Deadline To Update Aadhaar Card

Aadhaar card holders can make changes to details for free till December 14 through myAaadhar portal. Earlier the deadline to make changes for free was September 14, which was later extended to December 14 by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Jeevan Pramaan Patra or Life Certificate Rule Change

Although the last date to submit Jeevan Pramaan Patra or life certificate for pensioners has passed, but the beneficiary can still submit their certificates if they have missed the deadline. The Central Pension Processing Centres (CPPC) will only release your funds after receiving and processing the Jeevan Pramaan Patra or life certificate.
