Now a Shia-Hindu party to counter Sunni-Dalit unity; to contest 2019 polls

New Delhi: To counter Dalit-Muslim unity that was basically the brainchild of All India Muslim Personal Law Board which passed a proper resolution regarding this in Hyderabad, it seems that Shia community under Indian Shia Awami League (ISAL) is uniting Shia and Hindus against this unity of Sunni and Dalits. ISAL wants to field its candidates during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the ISAL is working in this regard across the country.

Syed Wasin Rizwi said that relations between Hindu and Shia are as old as 12th century. "So we are having very cordial relations with each other from a very long time. He has made president of All India Akhara Parishad Mahant Narendra Giri as the patron of the organisation. He enlisted that 14 Shia states in India had helped Hindu community against Sunni communities' atrocity.

Rizwi told Oneindia that Sunni community has been advocating unity of Dalit and Muslim and some failed attempts were made in the past. But ISAL's resolve is very clear that wherever people of the Awami League will be in such a position they will be strong enough they will contest elections. All preparations are made, president and party organization is well in place in 16 states. They are working hard to strengthen organisation.

Shia community is 20 per cent of the total Muslims in India. Shis community believes that 80 percent radical Sunni Muslims don't give them their right and the community is bereft of social, political and government schemes due to Sunnies only. There are several Sunni parties in India that included All India Ulama Council, Peace Party of India and All India MIM and a conglomoration of Islamic organisation All India Muslim Majlish Mushawarat but this is the first Shia organisation that is politically active.

A Jamiat Ulama e Hind leader said that such kind of gimmick by Rizvi will continue. "We know that in whose hands he is playing and actually he wants to save himself from going to jail. Unity of Muslim is intact," said the Sunni leader. However, Rizvi accused that Sunni Muslims are not ready to accept Shia as Muslim. He said that Shia is the community of follower and it is follower of India and keep on following and serving India.

Rizwi further said, "We have the entire organisation unite in Telengana, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Mir Hamid Ali Khan who is very active in Hyderabad and have been challenging politics of Assauddin Owaisi from very long." District president in Uttar Pradesh's 45 districts have been made. There is no plane to hold rally in the recent times but party's focus is to strengthen it first. "We will cover almost all state by December. Candidates will be from all religion Shia mean followers. This is a team of followers," Rizwi added.
