Now, pay more to ride in Uber over 15km ride
Bengaluru, Aug 27: In the IT city Bengaluru, the online taxi firm Uber has doubled the fares for ride over 15 km distance, due to frequent clashes with the customers in order to avoid long rides for drivers.
From coming week, the fare for every kilometer beyond 15 km will be charged Rs 14 for UberGo and Rs 16 for UberX for upto 15 km distance.

For UberGO and UberX, the fare will remain as Rs 7 and Rs 8 respectively, whereas the base fare and time rate will remain same as they are.
In a statement, Uber said, "This step will boost the drivers to do more trips a day with the incentive provided."[Uber launches in 4 more cities]
To make cab easily available for commuters, the aggregator has planned to dole out incentives to drivers, so that they can make more trips per day.
Recently, a passenger had faced difficulty while booking cab for a long trip.

Previously, many drivers have learnt to manipulate the system in an attempt to meet their daily target by asking the passengers to break their trip into two legs and start the other trip from the mid-way by booking another cab from the mid-way of the destination.
One of a daily commuter said, "In this process, drivers had to pay Rs 50 to commuters for booking another cab from mid-way."
To attract passengers, Uber said that even with the new fares, cabs will remain cheaper than its counterparts.
