Now, Modi govt orders over 1100 KVs to hoist National Flag daily

New Delhi, Feb 29: Days after HRD Ministry passed a resolution stating that all the central universities will have to fly the Tricolour on their campuses, Modi Government has ordered schools to follow the rule. Reportedly, Government has directed 1,100-plus Central schools to hoist National Flag daily.

According to media reports, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) which comes under HRD ministry has asked all the schools to follow the rule religiously.

Now, KVs to hoist National Flag daily

KVS has written a letter ordering schools to make proper arrangements to unfurl National Flag in the campus.

KVS additional commissioner (academics) U N Khaware was quoted by TOI as saying, "The flag should be positioned at a prominent point of the school so that all students shall be able to salute it every day".

Earlier on Feb 19, a resolution was adopted at a meeting of vice chancellors chaired by HRD Minister Smriti Irani regarding the same . In the meeting, it was decided all the 46 central universities in the country will fly the national flag on their campuses to signify a "strong India"

"At a central place in every university, the national flag will be flown prominently and proudly," said the resolution.
