Now Justice Karnan to pass order against Supreme Court

When there is Justice C Karnan around there is bound to be a lot of drama. After a dramatic hearing on the contempt plea against him, Justice Karnan came out of the court hall and said that he would now pass an order against the Supreme Court.

After the hearing he said that he would now pass an order against the seven judge bench that is hearing the case against him. He did not make it clear what order he would pass. However going by what transpired in the Supreme Court it appears that he would order the Bench to restore his judicial work and also hold the proceedings against him null and void.

Restore my work and then I will get back to my senses, Justice Karnan told a seven judge bench of the Supreme Court on Friday. The court however refused to restore his work at the Calcutta High Court and gave him four weeks time to file written submissions. It also advised the judge to engage a lawyer. As justice Karnana started shouting in the court, the bench rose.

The Chief Justice of India J S Khehar asked if he was mentally fit to understand the gravity of the case. If so give us a medical certificate, the CJI also said. You suffer from work related instability, the CJI also said. Justice Karnan however refused to relent and demanded that his work be restored. I will not appear before you until you restore my work he said while adding that he ready to go to jail.
