Now, Guntur schools to have IIT basic course

Guntur, July 20: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is likely to launch coaching for IIT foundation course in government schools in Guntur on July 29. The initiative is being spearheaded by the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) and was introduced last year on an experimental basis. In fact, this helped nearly 1,000 students of class VIII, IX and X.

The course received good response from the students and the parents and hence the GMC decided to continue with the program.

GMC additional commissioner R Krishna Kapardhi said that two extra classes of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology will be taken under the IIT foundation course. The course would include weekly tests and assigning ranks to students depending on the marks. Inside sources said that the GMC teachers will be trained by IIT foundation course special teachers and trainers D. Venkateswara Rao and Khyathi.

Meanwhile, CM Chandrababu Naidu advised parents to make good use of the courses in the schools.
