Now, Congress MLAs head for Bengaluru to avoid being poached by BJP in Gujarat
Till now 6 MLAs have quit Congress and joined BJP taking Congress' tally to 51 in the 182-member assembly.
In the wake of several Congress MLAs in Gujarat quitting the party to join the BJP, 44 of the grand old party's MLAs left for Bengaluru on late Friday night to avoid being poached.

Congress earlier on Friday alleged that the Gujarat police had abducted its MLA in the state with a view to influence the upcoming elections to the Upper House.

"To ensure that BJP is not successful in its mission, 44 of us Congress MLAs are leaving from Gujarat for Bengaluru," ANI quoted Gujatat Congress leader Shailesh Parmar as saying.
He also said that the BJP was "offering money" and putting "police pressure" to make Congress MLAs resign from the party.
Till now 6 MLAs have quit Congress and joined BJP taking Congress' tally to 51 in the 182-member assembly.
Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi alleged that BJP has spent crores of rupess in horse trading to attract the Congress leaders.
"Congress Gujarat MLA Punabhai Gamit was offered Rs 10 crore rupees by the BJP," he added.
The latest setback for the Congress comes almost a week after Vaghela left the party and also resigned as the Leader of Opposition.
