Now, Bengluru riders can use non ISI-mark helmets from Feb 1
The Bangalore police's drive against non-ISI branded helmets has been called off.

Earlier, Bengaluru traffic police had stated that helmets having United States' DoT and Europe's ECE - are not acceptable. Only riders who wear ISI-marked helmets will not be penalized when the rule comes into force from February 1, police said.
A lot of motorcyclists riding high-end superbikes opt for imported helmets that are DOT/ECE certified but don't have the ISI mark on them as their manufacturers do not apply for ISI certification.
The helmets that are DOT and ECE are said to be of a higher quality and protection standard when compared to those with ISI certification.
