Now, an actor held in Kerala for laughing at a Youth Congress meeting

, Nov 23: Police in India act very quickly in few instances - when the petitioner is a religious party, hurt by a twitter joke or a scene in a film, or when the petitioner is a national party or a politician.

In Kerala on Friday police arrested a movie actor for allegedly disrupting a youth congress meeting in Alappuzha district. The actor insulted the leaders and disrupted the meeting, sources say.

But the actor has an entirely different version of the whole incident. He and sources close to him say that the actor was arrested because he laughed his heart out when a speaker said that Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act is world's best programme !

The actor responded to Indiavision channel, "I live near the meeting venue and I was there at the meeting as an audience. I couldn't help but laugh when the leader said MNREGA is the world's best programme ever. That was a natural reaction".

And the left parties have jumped into the fray demanding Anoop's release. MNREGA is a big hit in Kerala and it was introduced nation wide by UPA government.
