Pathankot, Jan 19: The drug mafia angle into the Pathankot attack may be handed over to a specialised agency as it requires a specialised probe, sources tell OneIndia.

The National Investigating Agency (NIA), which is probing the Pathankot attack, says that an appropriate agency will need to look into the drug mafia angle.

Meanwhile, the NIA, which has got a nod to conduct a polygraph test on former Gurdaspur Superintendent of Police, Salwinder Singh, is hoping to elicit more information out of him.

Singh during his various rounds of questioning has made it clear to the NIA that he has nothing more to say.

You question me as many times as possible, I have only the same thing to say, he said during his questioning.

The NIA has sought to know how Singh was given the benefit by the terrorists. Normally terrorists do not let people get away alive.

Singh, however, told the NIA that he was let off probably because he was a Sikh. The NIA, however, is not convinced with his answer and will subject him to a polygraph test.

The NIA is, however, undecided on whether to make Singh an accused or a witness in the case.

"We cannot comment on this at this moment," an NIA officer said while also adding that a decision would be taken in due course of time after consulting with the ministry for home affairs.
