'Not the final verdict', says Karunanidhi on Jaya case

Chennai, May 11: With Karnataka High Court acquitting his arch rival and AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa in a graft case, DMK President M Karunanidhi on Monday said this was "not the final verdict."

Not the final verdict, says Karunanidhi

"What has been pronounced today is not the final verdict. I would like to remind one and all about Mahatma Gandhi's saying there is a court above all courts and that is conscience," he said in a statement.

Jayalalithaa and others accused in the disproportionate assets case were acquitted today by the Karnataka High Court. After the verdict, Jaya said: that she "immensely satisfied" with the verdict and added that removed aspersions cast on her out of political vendetta.

The AIADMK supremo said the high court's judgment also helped her emerge as a gold refined by fire [I am now a gold refined by fire, says Jayalalithaa after acquittal]
