I am now a gold refined by fire, says Jayalalithaa after acquittal
Chennai, May 11: Former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa on Monday thanked the people of the state after getting acquitted by the Karnataka High Court in a 18-year-old disproportionate assets case. [Follow live updates: Jayalalithaa acquitted]

The 67-year-old leader said she was "immensely satisfied" with the verdict and added that removed aspersions cast on her out of political vendetta.
The AIADMK supremo said the high court's judgment also helped her emerge as a gold refined by fire.
