Not Gen Z, ‘Amrit Peedhi’ To Take India To New Heights, Says PM Modi
An interaction was held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with NCC and NSS volunteers participating in this year's Republic Day parade, on Wednesday.
The young crowd was addressed by PM Modi, expressing his belief that they would be referred to as the 'Amrit Peedhi,' despite being commonly known as the 'GenZ,' and emphasizing that this generation would lead the country to greater heights.

While addressing the NCC and NSS volunteers, the Prime Minister remarked, "In your language, your generation is called GenZ, but I will refer to you as Amrit Peedhi. The country will be taken to greater heights by India's 'Amrit Peedhi'."
It was further stated by the PM that this year's Republic Day would hold special significance due to two reasons - firstly, being the 75th Republic Day, and secondly, dedicated to the women's power of the nation.
It was earlier stated by the PM that the celebration of the 'Amrit Mahotsav' would mark 75 years since independence in India. Additionally, it was emphasized that decisions made during the 'Amrit Kaal' would have a lasting impact on the next 1000 years.
The PM expressed, "Our decisions and sacrifices in this period will influence the next 1000 years, as India moves forward with new confidence and resolve. Referring to the last 1000 years, I see an opportunity before the country once again."
Furthermore, the PM added, "What we do in this era, the steps we take, and the decisions we make one after the other will sow the seeds for the golden history of the country in the coming 1000 years."
The term 'Amrit Kaal' was introduced by the PM in 2021 during the Independence Day celebrations. At that time, Prime Minister Modi unveiled a new blueprint for India's growth over the next 25 years, highlighting the objective of 'Amrit Kaal' to enhance the quality of life for Indian citizens and bridge the developmental divide between rural and urban areas.
