North India shivering: Met dept predicts snow fall
New Delhi, Dec 27: North India continues to reel under intense cold wave. In Jammu and Kashmir, the mercury further dipped in several parts with Leh witnessing the coldest day of the season on Thursday at minus 14 degrees Celsius.

Temperature was 2.3 degrees Celsius in Shimla while Palampur recorded minimum temperature at 3 degrees Celsius. "Due to western disturbances over North Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir, there could be snowfall in high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh over 2 days and temperature across the region will fall," informed Met department.

Most parts of Punjab and Haryana experienced intense cold wave. Adampur in Jalandhar district recorded minus 1.2 degrees Celsius. Amritsar had a cold night at 2.2 degrees Celsius, down.

In Haryana, Narnaul recorded the coldest temperature at a minimum of 1.8 deg C. Chandigarh recorded a low of 5.8 deg C.
