'Non-Veg Biryani Delivered During Navratri': Noida Restaurant Owner Arrested

A restaurant owner has been taken into custody after a woman from Noida alleged she was delivered non-vegetarian biryani instead of the vegetarian version she ordered during Navratri.

The woman, Chhaya Sharma, shared an emotional video online in which she claimed the restaurant deliberately sent her a non-veg dish.

Speaking through tears in the widely shared clip, Sharma said she had ordered vegetarian biryani via Swiggy from a restaurant named Lucknowi Kabab Paratha. After consuming a few bites, she realised the meal was not vegetarian.

"I am a pure vegetarian woman, and they have sent me this non-veg biryani during Navaratri," she says in Hindi in the video. "This is intentional. Whoever did this has done it intentionally. How can they send non-veg when I ordered veg biryani," she claimed.

The claims made in the video have not been independently verified by One.in.

The video quickly gained traction across social media platforms such as Instagram and X, amassing millions of views. While many users expressed outrage, others questioned the rationale behind arresting a restaurant owner over what could be a genuine error.

Restaurant owner arrested

Shortly after the video went viral on 7 April, police in Noida took swift action, arresting the owner of Lucknowi Kabab Paratha, which is located in Amrapali Leisure Valley, Greater Noida. Mohammed Zubair of Alt News identified the proprietor as Rahul Rajvanshi.

The official X account of the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate posted an image of the arrested individual, stating: "Bisrakh Police Station (Central Noida):- Restaurant operator arrested for sending non-veg biryani after an online order for veg biryani."

Authorities at Bisrakh police station have confirmed that further action will be taken following a thorough investigation into the matter.
