Nominations open for Padma awards; to be only made online
New Delhi, Aug 2 The window for making nominations for the next edition of Padma awards has been opened and this can only be received online, the government today said. The window will close on September 15.

"Nominations for the Padma Awards 2017 is presently open and the last date for receipt of the nominations for the Padma Awards 2017 is September 15, 2016.
"It has been decided that from this year the nominations or recommendations for the Padma Awards will be received online only on an electronic management system designed by the Ministry of Home Affairs," the ministry said in a statement.
The facility has been hosted on the website-- www.padmaawards.gov.in--, it said.
It added no other mode of nomination or recommendation will be accepted and nominations received after September 15 will not be considered.
