The incident has triggered concerns about business ethics and consumer protection rights in the hospitality industry.

The Raid at Clinique Pub

Cheap Liquor In Expensive Bottles: Noida Pub Scam Busted By Excise Department

District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar Srivastava revealed that two staff members from Clinique, a pub situated within Gardens Galleria mall, have been apprehended. Legal proceedings have also been initiated for suspending its liquor license. "We conducted a raid at the pub on Tuesday evening with the support of local police. The staffers were caught red-handed while mixing cheaper liquor into bottles of high-end brands," said Srivastava.

The raid was executed following an anonymous tip-off about this fraudulent practice taking place within the establishment. This highlights not only the effectiveness of law enforcement but also underscores the importance of public vigilance and cooperation in maintaining standards across all sectors.

Evidence Uncovered During The Raid

During their investigation, authorities discovered an employee working covertly on an upper deck inside the kitchen area of the pub. He was found transferring cheaper Sterling Reserve brand alcohol into bottles labelled as Black Dog and Teachers Highlands - both significantly pricier liquors.

"We have initiated proceedings for suspending the pub's liquor license," stated Srivastava firmly, sending out a clear message to other establishments that such unscrupulous practices will not be tolerated by his department.

Arrests Made And Contraband Seized

An FIR has been registered against those implicated in this case. Two individuals -- Mohammad Nawaz from Dinajpur in West Bengal and Mahesh Kumar from Rae Bareli -- were arrested. Additionally, 293 bottles of foreign liquor and 395 beer cans were seized from the spot.

This incident has thrown a spotlight on the need for stricter regulations and monitoring within the hospitality sector to ensure that customers are not duped into paying more for less. It also highlights the role of law enforcement agencies in ensuring business practices adhere to legal and ethical standards.

In conclusion, this case serves as a stark reminder of how businesses can sometimes resort to unethical means for profit. The swift action taken by the Excise Department is commendable and sends out a clear message that such malpractices will be dealt with sternly. It is hoped that this incident prompts other establishments to review their practices and uphold high standards of service integrity.
