Noida Police Apprehend 8 Suspects in 48 Hours After Multiple Encounters
In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, the Noida Police have successfully apprehended eight suspects following a series of encounters over a span of 48 hours. These operations resulted in seven of the suspects sustaining gunshot injuries. The arrests include a notorious Delhi-based robber linked to over two dozen criminal cases across the National Capital Region and two members of the infamous Thak-Thak gang.

The initial encounter occurred on the night between Wednesday and Thursday during a routine check at the Sector-96 junction, under the jurisdiction of the Sector-39 police station. When three individuals on a motorcycle were asked to stop for an inquiry, they attempted to escape towards the Hajipur underpass, leading to a chase. The pursuit ended near Sikka Mall on the service road where, after exchanging fire with the police, two suspects were shot in the legs and detained, while a third was captured later in a combing operation.
From these individuals, identified as Arun from Kheria Tappal, Hathras, and Gaurav from Meet Nagar in Delhi, the police confiscated Rs 1 lakh in cash, a motorcycle without a number plate, and two illegal firearms with ammunition. The second encounter took place near Gol Chakkar Chowki late Thursday night. Rishabh Dayal from Mayur Vihar, Delhi, engaged in gunfire with the police but was ultimately shot in the leg and arrested. Dayal's criminal record includes various offenses such as robbery, theft, and illegal possession of arms across Noida and Ghaziabad.
Another confrontation ensued near Roza Yakubpur in the Bisrakh police station area early Friday when two suspects on a motorcycle tried to evade police during a routine check. Following a chase and an exchange of gunfire, both suspects were injured in the legs and apprehended. Identified as Deepak alias Bunty and Ravi Kumar, they were found in possession of country-made pistols, ammunition, and cash.
The fourth encounter occurred near Gulshan Mall in the Expressway police station area late Friday night. Two men on a motorcycle fled when signaled to stop by the police but were injured in retaliatory firing after they opened fire on pursuing officers. The injured suspects, identified as Deepak from Delhi and Tarun from Hapur, are known members of the Thak-Thak gang. Deepak is implicated in over 150 cases while Tarun also has a criminal background.
Additional DCP Noida Manish Mishra confirmed that items recovered from Deepak and Tarun included pistols, ammunition, slingshots, and metal balls used for breaking car windows during thefts. All injured suspects have been taken to hospitals for treatment, with further legal proceedings initiated against them.
This series of encounters underscores the Noida Police's commitment to curbing criminal activities within their jurisdiction. The swift action taken by the officers not only led to the arrest of several wanted criminals but also prevented potential future crimes.
